OUTCOME THREE.

Candidates demonstrate professional dispositions and ethics.

ARTIFACT THIRTEEN. MEDT 6461 Interview a Media Specialist (Andy Plemmons & Mary Tyner)

ROLES: Program Administrator

REFLECTION: Interviewing two experienced media specialists at length provided me with a wealth of knowledge (all of the standards noted for Outcome Three were covered in these interviews) that I continue to refer back to as well as initiated networking within the library community. As a Program Administrator, connecting with other SLMS is invaluable.

ARTIFACT FOURTEEN. MEDT 6461 Procedure Sheets Reflections

ROLES: Program Administrator

REFLECTION: Having the opportunity to reflect on and suggest changes for roles described in a Library Procedures Manual gave me perspective on the kinds of information that I would want to share with others as a Program Administrator.

ARTIFACT FIFTEEN. MEDT 7474 Reference Log Website

ROLES: Information Specialist, Instructional Partner, Leader

REFLECTION: A semester-long project, the Reference Log Website project provided a wealth of information that simply could not have been obtained otherwise. I am now equipped as an Information Specialist to recommend efficient and ethical information-seeking strategies for K-12 students with a variety of learning needs.

ARTIFACT SIXTEEN. MEDT 7477 LMC Orientation Video and LMC Website

ROLES: Leader, Program Administrator, Teacher

REFLECTION: Creating a comprehensive LMC orientation video and LMC website left me with professional knowledge to be a better Leader, Program Administrator, and Teacher since they were both designed with so many intended purposes.

ARTIFACT SEVENTEEN. MEDT 7478 Automation System Tutorial (Destiny Section Two)

ROLES: Leader, Program Administrator, Teacher

REFLECTION: Working with a group and going in depth into a library automation system resulting in a tutorial along with a quiz prepared me for my roles in the media center as a Leader, Program Administrator, and Teacher. I was responsible for Section Two, Cataloging: Maintaining the Collection Database.

ARTIFACT EIGHTEEN. MEDT 6465 Professional Development Module (Storybird)

ROLES: Leader, Program Administrator, Teacher

REFLECTION: Creating an online professional development module for Storybird was a rich experience that has inspired me to create many more in the future. This type of instruction can be tailored for the user from an educational leader to a student with special needs. Through this artifact, I am better prepared to be a Leader, Program Administrator, and Teacher.
